Question: John Wyndham – The Roots of Doctor Who

For some years I have felt that whenever people discuss the early influences on Doctor Who (and I mean the TV show, though not necessarily just the First Doctor), a lot of people mention Quatermass but few mention John Wyndham. (And do check out Wyndham Web)

I’m considering putting some effort into producing a few thousand words on the topic in 2015 – is this something people would read (e-book on Kindle) or am I wasting my time and effort?

Please do let me know!

I’d certainly be interested. If you don’t think there’s any commercial value, but would like people to read your opinions and research, perhaps you’d be interested to know that I run a John Wyndham website called WyndhamWeb. If you’d like to publish it there, please let me know.

Thanks Brian, I had a quick look at your site – glad someone’s flying the flag for John Wyndham

My project has been on hold (and I’ve extended the scope) while I progress some other opportunities (including writing for Big Finish), but one day!

Just over three years later and the piece has appeared in Celestial Toyroom 507, the magazine for the Doctor Who Appreciation Society (DWAS)

And finally, several years later I will be writing this – expect it sometime later this year!
