After some nonsense with iTunes date leaks and legal threats, the BBC has announced the new series of Doctor Who will start on Sunday October 7^th, 2018. The news is here: It’s about time…

Several way to interpret this, but if nothing else it means just over a month to go before we get to see Jodie Whittaker in action, the odd trailer notwithstanding.

We also know the episode is called The Woman Who Fell to Earth. This is obviously a play on the David Bowie film The Man Who Fell to Earth, and is a strong title, though to my mind at some odds with recent statements about the Doctor’s gender not being a big thing this series.
