There’s already a few spoiler-free reviews for The Tsuranga Conundrum, and I will try not to just repeat them. I do have a couple of thoughts I’ll share here. Let me know if you disagree or if I’ve missed anything.
The Tsuranga Conundrum
The title tells us there’ll be a puzzle, rather than (say) a dilemma. It’s very much a classic sci-fi setting, all spaceships and corridors, and I wonder just what the Conundrum will be? Perhaps the Pting are revealed late in the day? Maybe the group of strangers in the synopsis means one of them is a secret villain?
I can’t get anything from Tsuranga, which I imagine is a place or possibly a race. I can’t spot obvious musical references this time, perhaps those are just for Sheffield?
It’s another Chris Chibnall story (4/5 so far), and I assume there’ll be a bit more myth building. I’d like some more inside the TARDIS material but I’m not holding out much hope. What I do hope is the Doctor is much more the lead in this story, more so than in Arachnids in the UK. Beyond that I expect character development for Graham Ryan and Yaz. Beyond that I just hope we don’t get too much dodgy science!
