After the tour de force that was last week’s Fugitive of the Judoon I’m expecting a more contained story in Praxeus (though I hear it may be a two parter introduction). I expect only one Doctor, no Captain Jack and only a little chance of The Master, maybe at the end. Let’s consider what we know…
Praxeus
As usual the episode page / next time trailer has less to tell us than the YouTube trailer: COMING SOON | Praxeus | Doctor Who. From the latter we learn:
What connects a missing astronaut in the Indian Ocean, birds behaving strangely in Peru and a US naval officer who washes up on a Madagascan beach?
Not a lot basically. The gallery makes it clear we have two new characters (at least one of whom gets a TARDIS trip). The story is a Chris Chibnall / Pete McTighe writing credit, so we may get a series arc scene or two by CC. What do I know?!
I liked Pete McTighe’ series 11 story Kerblam! so I’m prepared to enjoy this even if my fading grasp on Doctor Who’s mythology won’t be rocked to the core!
Beyond that I just (as ever) want something real for the companions and Jodie to keep the Doctor the way we’ve seen her recently. Let’s chat more after the show!
