Apologies for the lengthy title, I just wanted a couple of posts giving a before and after for tonight’s return of Doctor Who. I’m broadly positive, intrigued to see how the new characters get introduced and want to see how Jodie Whittaker makes the role her own. I’m buoyed up by the spoiler-free BBC review, Doctor Who: Will Gompertz on the new series with Jodie Whittaker ★★★★☆ and instinct tells me my thoughts might be similar. Apart from Jodie, I’m most intrigued by Bradley Walsh’s character; I hope he is sceptical and takes time to be convinced. I also hope there’s not too much made of his being apparently older but not. We shall see.
