I found a good piece on the cusp between the First Doctor and Second Doctor on something called The BBC Genome Blog. The piece is by Andrew Martin (who I assume is the same person who has written with Justin Richards). The piece is: Doctor Who: The Regeneration Game.

It’s a well put together piece, covering Hartnell, Troughton’s arrival and the decision to start with Daleks. It even touches on Terry Nation and the withdrawal of the right to use the Daleks, another reason why the Cybermen came to the fore during the Second Doctor‘s time. Of course it talks about Gerry Davis and Kit Pedler. It talks a bit about filming and viewing figures as well. Nice to see we’ve always been obsessed with statistics!
