Another of the many titles announced today as Big Finish strives into new-Who territory is The Churchill Years. Of the titles announced, this feels most like a one-off (and no doubt will be followed by further Churchill stories!)
The setting seems to include World War II; I hope we get some young Churchill in this as well.
Another five disc epic (four + interviews I assume) for a mere £20, there are a couple of specific points to dwell on…
Memoirs of a leader
First this is the cover I must like from today’s news. All are by Tom Webster, but this feels most complete to me (absent the writer – Nick himself?). And yes, in the top right you do see three Doctors – Ninth, Tenth and Eleventh. There is also a Dalek.
We learn this from the product page:
Winston relates a number of encounters with the Ninth, Tenth and Eleventh Doctors in his memoirs, battling alien incursions, metamorphosing creatures… and a Dalek!
We also learn there is Karzan played by Danny Horn, reprising his role in the 2010 Christmas Special A Christmas Carol. How that will work we wait to see, but I am intrigued to say the least. Of course we can all think of several stories David Tennant did for Big Finish early in his career, and Nick does a decent Eccleston as we heard in Night of the Whisper.
What are your thoughts? Are you getting this? Let me know!
