Now, I’m a sucker for a good story set on Mars, and a big fan of the Ice Warriors as a race. Add a group of Victorian soldiers and the message God Save the Queen scrawled on the Martian surface and you get Empress of Mars. What’s not to like?

Looking particularly steampunk, I have the feeling Mark Gatiss may just have written his best ever episode for Doctor Who (so far). I was not impressed with Cold War, and even from the images on the website, this looks like a far better take on the warriors. A bit mad? Perhaps. I’m really looking forward to it… what do you think?
