Volume 76 of Doctor Who The Complete History covers Deep Breath and Into the Dalek. The stories are only a year old; do we really need them featured in this series so early? This volume was a free gift with Volume 17 so wasn’t a large investment. Even so, is it any good?

Short answer is it is pretty good. The content may only be two recent stories, but you get a quick overview of the whole 2014 series and as part of the Deep Breath material is a large piece on Peter Capaldi becoming the Twelfth Doctor. The Into the Dalek piece gives us the Stuart Manning cover, [and I don’t seem to have that one!] and some posters of Journey Blue [a possible companion I thought at the time]. Decent content all round, but not life-changing.
