A round-up of views on the recent episode Flatline to illustrate the range of opinions. As ever this is for interest and not to validate my own thoughts. Do fell free to let me know of any other sources you think I could include for future iterations of this post (ie for later episodes).
First up is the author, Jamie Mathieson, who has several pieces on his blog about his two stories and from where I borrowed the boneless picture for this post. The particular item is The Boneless but I would read around his blog out of interest.
The Register website has been reviewing episodes and for this episode three fans (Brid-Aine Parnell, Gavin Clarke and Jennifer Baker) gave their views in Doctor Who’s Flatline: Cool monsters, yes, but utterly limp subplots. You get the drift from the title.
A sci-fi review site I have recently found called Stranger Views had this review – it is similar in places to my review and more balanced than others.
So, despite the AI score, reviewers are generally critical of Flatline. Trouble with being a reviewer – if you like something it can be a less interesting review to read!
