Big Finish ends its series of #lockdownloads with a chance to hear part of Nicola Walker’s brilliant arrival at Big Finish in the Liv Chenka story Robophobia. There’s also a sale. Details below…
Lucky for Liv
It may be the thirteenth free story in this sequence, but it’s lucky for Liv and anyone yet to hear her (and where have you been?). Here’s the press release:
Big Finish’s series of lockdownloads goes out with a bang, as the first part of classic Doctor Who adventure, Robophobia, is made available for FREE this week.
Since the beginning of the lockdown imposed by the coronavirus crisis, Big Finish has been releasing weekly FREE DOWNLOADS of audio dramas – or #lockdownloads – for a limited time.
Every Monday for the past thirteen weeks, a new story (or episode from a box set collection) has been made available to download exclusively from the Big Finish web site’s Weekly Deals page at https://www.bigfinish.com/collections/v/weekly-deals.
This final download can be unlocked by anyone who has registered for a Big Finish account (which is free to create) and played on the Big Finish listening app (which is free to install).
This download will be available for one week only, and comes accompanied by a special discount offer on related titles.
The final free title is:
Doctor Who: Robophobia part one, by Nicholas Briggs
Starring Sylvester McCoy as the Doctor, and introducing Nicola Walker as fan favourite Liv Chenka, Doctor Who: Robophobia was originally released in July 2011 and is a sequel to the TV adventure The Robots of Death.
Listeners can download part one of this story FREE from now until 23:59 (UK time) 05 July 2020 at the Big Finish website.
Nothing has ever been officially confirmed, but there is a rumour that on a Sandminer bound for Kaldor City, the robots somehow turned homicidal and nearly wiped out the entire crew. Can that really be true?
The robot transport ship Lorelei has a cargo of over a hundred fifty-seven thousand robots on board, all deactivated. So even if there were any truth in the rumour of that massacre, there’d still be no danger. Surely, there wouldn’t…
But then, the Doctor witnesses a murder.
For a limited time, Big Finish listeners can also download the complete Doctor Who: Robophobia for 50% off, at the Weekly Deals page.
Additionally, the bundle price of the Seventh Doctor Doctor Who: Monthly Adventures 133-164 is now available for HALF PRICE at just £52.50 when bought together. All these download discounts will expire at 23:59 (UK time) 05 July 2020.
Although Big Finish’s schedule of free lockdownload stories has now ended, there will be a new programme of free downloads announced in the coming weeks.
