The BBC has announced River Song will be in this year’s Christmas special (no title yet). The details (such as they are) are: The Doctor and River Song Reunite For A Spectacular Christmas. This means she meets the Twelfth Doctor but as a ghost / memory / somewhere else in her timeline / flash-back who knows? With the recent Big Finish announcements of the Eighth Doctor and River, this brings her total of Time Lords to four (and counting).
